Attorney M. Colin Bresee earned his Juris Doctor from the Michigan State University College of Law in 1992. While in law school, he served on the Law Review and received recognition for his advocacy skills. These early accomplishments laid the foundation for the legal research, writing, and courtroom advocacy that continue to distinguish his practice today.
After earning his law degree, Colin began his legal career as a prosecutor with the Denver City Attorney's Office. He later served with the Mesa County District Attorney's Office in Grand Junction before continuing his prosecutorial work with the San Miguel District Attorney's Office in Telluride. Throughout his years as a prosecutor, he handled a broad range of criminal matters and tried numerous jury cases. His skill and reputation also led to appointments as a Special Prosecutor in multiple judicial districts throughout Colorado.
In 1998, Colin founded the Law Offices of M. Colin Bresee and shifted his focus to criminal defense. His background as a prosecutor provides valuable insight into how criminal cases are investigated, charged, negotiated, and tried. This unique perspective enables him to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and develop strategic defenses tailored to each client's specific circumstances.
